READ ALL BEFORE BIDDING Listing is for 1 - EXTREMELY RARE Bugs Bunny 50th Birthday 12 Coin Set *** You may NEVER see one of these sets for sale again - less then 110 sets were made, Exact number unknown. According to the Mint that bought a lot of Rarities Mints stock at the bankruptcy auction there are ONLY 104 of these sets in existence ** and at least one set was broken up and the coins were sold individually - Rarities Mint - made in 1991 - each coin is 1 Troy oz. .999 Silver - 12 coins / rounds / tokens - all 12 coins have the same serial number - 12 different Looney Tunes Characters - In order to distinguish the coins in these sets from the mass produced ones, all of the coins in these sets were given special serial numbers. All of these special coins have serial numbers of 060xxx the serial numbers range from 060001 - 060104 If anyone has a set with a higher serial number greater then 060104 pls let me know & I will correct my listing - Coins have Never been removed from display case - I removed 1 coin from display case to picture the back - never removed from plastic holder ** From Info I've been able to gather, (WB) Warner Bros & a (HSN) Home Shopping Network contracted (RM) Rarities Mint to create a 12 coins set for " Bugs Bunny's 50th Birthday ". The coins were to be made & sold on the (HSN) one character per month, starting in January 1991. The contract required (RM) to create the molds for all 12 coins and present full sets of 12 coins in a display case to the (WB) & (HSN) Executives. From my info, 104 complete sets were made and most were given as gifts to the WB and HSN execs during a proof of concept kickoff meeting. Only a very few sets wound up on the open market. (RM) suddenly stopped all production in the 3rd month (March 1991) & (RM) eventually went out of business. So only the 1st 3 coins (Bugs, Porky & Elmer) were made in quantity. The other 9 coins were ONLY available in the complete sets. *** (RM) policy was to destroy all molds so NO additional coins could be made. I got my set in 1991 from one of the mints that bought out (RM) stock at the bankruptcy auction. 1991 Rarities Mint - 12 Medallion Proof Set Mintage - thousands of each character were minted I believe it was upto 25,000 Bugs Bunny Elmer Fudd Porky Pig Mintage - Less then 110 of each character minted Sylvester Tasmanian Devil Foghorn Leghorn Road Runner Tweety Bird Daffy Duck Pepe Le Pew Wile E.
